More shed tom foolery

I've been slowly getting things done on the Spifire whilst keeping an eye on the fact that its MOT is due 29th Aug

I sorted the throttle linkage with a shedtune  mod so it shouldn't stick any more
M5 stainless threaded bar and some decent joints are an improvement over the standard bent garden wire linkage

All adjusted up ready for fine tuning
After tinkering with the linkage etc I found my self unsupervised in a shed with a hacksaw, file and a standard air box this was the end result..
I made the inlet pipes a bit bigger using some old exhaust pipe ,the stub stacks fit inside the air box, a filter will be  mounted in front the rad somewhere ducting cold air to the "comedy" air box

The next fanning about job was to fit some spot lights - which meant making a modified front grill
Ally panel used to make a grill-6mm stainless flow mesh will eventually be used behind the four larger holes to protect the oil cooler a bit

View from under the bonnet -large holes "let" the spot lights in and allow some air flow-its  not finished yet  so  will be tinkered some more no doubt

Next on the list was swap out the gearbox for an O/D unit ,whilst the box was out I needed to sort out the back plate (loose bolts!) and replace rear crank oil seal
All the new old bits are now cleaned up ready for reassembly- once I have got a few gaskets etc- next I will be replacing drive shaft UJs and putting in a good second hand diff then looking forward to clonk free 50mpg ! ?
Bell housing cleaned up

New old bits!-and this is how a shed should look Alex
new oil seal ready to go back on

On the fundraising front the eBay tat auction is going well all though I haven't heard back from Billie Piper yet! but I should have some interesting "Shedtune" t shirts to try a flog for the charity soon  ..watch this space
