Shed box

As someone on the Club Triumph has just made me go outside in the cold when I should be going to bed-here is my “cold air intake shed up”

  • Holes cut in nose cone –home made baffle directs air towards back of head lights-you can just see the shiny ally

  • blanking plate with duct- on the end of that duct is a foam filter –cant afford any of this fancy K+N stuff!

  • Modified GT6?  air box not sure as I  found it whilst in shed-
  • I welded the round can like bit onto the end of it -
  • Air box joins to duct,see pic below
  • lid removed from box to show calver tuning stub stacks –this old Knocker of an engine knocks out about 135 bhp

Its been a while since my last update Christmas has been and gone along with our annual “Arctic blast” which even though comes once a year always seems to reduce the country to a standstill-Unfortunate for a mate who was over from Oz visiting, he had planned to indulge himself by hiring a Ferrari for part of his 4 week UK trip –the hire company were very reluctant to let the car go with the weather as it was -the excess was over £5k so he rolled up at shedtune HQ in a base model VW Polo-oh how I laughed,all was not lost the weather eased and the hire company let their brand new convertible Jag loose on him -just in time to get snowed in North of the border somewhere  in Scotland-oh how I chuckled again002 jag 001

On the Shed front I am very glad to announce a new member to the fold,Homer a life long interloper of other peoples sheds and downstairs toilets , finally  bought a house with an garage come shed  large enough to stash 4 wheeled  lost causes and old Tupperware boxes full of useful stuff  -an area  we in shedtune world would   describe as  a..Technical Investigation Time  Space –or T.I.T space for short,being a bit of a tit himself he needs this space, as you can see he has set about getting it up to standard,we await photos of his cobbled up VR6 hybrid

Whist on the subject of top class German engineering the normally reliable 1996 Audi S6 Avant of mine decided not to turn over and get me home from work  on Christmas eve ,an argument with the R.A.C resulted not in a breakdown truck but  me borrowing a car to get the 50 miles home  and pick a Turkey up on route (It was all ready dead and plucked like the Audi)

Roll on the Tuesday after Christmas in a freezing works car park putting a shortened serp belt on to by pass the seized solid air con compressor –who needs air con  in winter anyway

Next on the list of jobs to do on the Audi was replace the dodgy radiator which was costing me nearly as much in Antifreeze for the weekly commute as fuel,with the help of some work mates I sourced an excellent supplier http://www.aaronradiator.co.uk/ £82 all in delivered the Audi didn't stand a chance an was soon in bits in front of the shed while the Stag looked on

As you can see there is a few other bits and coolers to get out the way first, to allow you to swap the rad out,but considering I didn't have a manual and don't like working on modern cars –not enough metric tools!-it didn't go too bad  –I also discovered Mole Valley farmers did the cheapest Anti freeze

So with that lot out the way I finally got going on the Stag, only for my decent welder to break ,so limping along with my cheap mini mig this is where we are

N/S floor replacement nearly complete and the loan of spot welder promised for next weekend to get the outer sill on –you never know we might have it ready for the RBR?
