Ebay tat...and Billie Piper etc

Many thanks for looking at my eBay auctions which are helping to raise funds for the charity-I will post up on the Virging Giving page how much has been raised by selling my tat as Ebay/paypal donate it straight to the charity

Speacial thanks to "Uncle Slimey" of 2CV Peking Paris fame (2007) who kicked things off buying the "Shedtune Olympic Torch"
Passing the torch on

Two tipsy middle aged grumpy petrol heads

The fact that he has one of the best stocked wine cellars in the South West had nothing to do with why we agreed to deliver the torch in person ! He also lives round the corner from Tipton Garage where all my sheds get MOTd , tweaked and laughed at prior to  C.T endurance events..looking forward to that weekend!

E bay have a free insertion weekend (don't be smutty)...so watch out for more tat,I was hoping to auction off some signed pictures of Billie Piper as I think they might sell well with 40+ year old grumpy shed dwellers but I have had no response from the Billie management team ,which might result in me flogging blatantly  faked signed pictures of her instead

On the car prep front I reckon  used all my luck up on the 10CR after finding two loose bolts rubbing against the flywheel, they should have been helping to hold the back plate on!
Loose bolt

Crap photo but the drill bit is pointing to a lucky crack!

Plus, on closer inspection the £29.99 second hand never used clutch kit I had fitted -it was found in the boot of a car about to be scrapped-the friction plate showed two hair line cracks from the spring to the inner edge ..oops not sure if they were there when I put it in or damage from the 2,000 mile grueling thrash, anyway lesson learnt new bits put in now, along with thread locked bolts holding the back plate on and a nice new rear crank oil seal, I'm just waiting on a 70p gasket which cost £3 to post to turn up then the second hand O/D  gearbox can be mated to its cleaned up bell housing and installed- hoping to get that done next week -other commitments allowing -then  will move rearwards and sort the diff and drive shafts out
New bits in all ready for gear box

More shed tom foolery

I've been slowly getting things done on the Spifire whilst keeping an eye on the fact that its MOT is due 29th Aug

I sorted the throttle linkage with a shedtune  mod so it shouldn't stick any more
M5 stainless threaded bar and some decent joints are an improvement over the standard bent garden wire linkage

All adjusted up ready for fine tuning
After tinkering with the linkage etc I found my self unsupervised in a shed with a hacksaw, file and a standard air box this was the end result..
I made the inlet pipes a bit bigger using some old exhaust pipe ,the stub stacks fit inside the air box, a filter will be  mounted in front the rad somewhere ducting cold air to the "comedy" air box

The next fanning about job was to fit some spot lights - which meant making a modified front grill
Ally panel used to make a grill-6mm stainless flow mesh will eventually be used behind the four larger holes to protect the oil cooler a bit

View from under the bonnet -large holes "let" the spot lights in and allow some air flow-its  not finished yet  so  will be tinkered some more no doubt

Next on the list was swap out the gearbox for an O/D unit ,whilst the box was out I needed to sort out the back plate (loose bolts!) and replace rear crank oil seal
All the new old bits are now cleaned up ready for reassembly- once I have got a few gaskets etc- next I will be replacing drive shaft UJs and putting in a good second hand diff then looking forward to clonk free 50mpg ! ?
Bell housing cleaned up

New old bits!-and this is how a shed should look Alex
new oil seal ready to go back on

On the fundraising front the eBay tat auction is going well all though I haven't heard back from Billie Piper yet! but I should have some interesting "Shedtune" t shirts to try a flog for the charity soon  ..watch this space
